Stipends
The goal of the Student Stipend Program is to contribute to the development of the County by creating a knowledge society and through the investment of budget funds in the training of strategic personnel to create a better quality labor market and increase the number of highly educated personnel.
Stipends are awarded on the basis of a public tender. The competition is published in the publication “Dubrovački vjesnik” and on the website of the County, generally in the month of October of the current year. The competition for awarding scholarships is open for 14 days from the date of publication.
Pupils are entitled to a stipend in the amount of 88.00 euros per month for 10 months for one school year, and students 146.00 euros per month for the academic year. Stipends are paid to students for the period from September 1 of the current year to June 30 of the following year, and to students from October 1 of the current year to July 31 of the following year.
Dubrovnik-Neretva County awards stipends in two categories:
• gifted pupils and students,
• pupils and students who are being educated for professions in deficit occupations
Deficit occupations are determined by the County prefect with a special decision for the current school or academic year. By providing stipends to pupils and students who are being educated for occupations in deficit, we try to direct pupils and students to occupations which, upon completion, will make it easier to get a job and ensure them a better life, while at the same time meeting the needs of the labor market in our County.
